Raipur: Advancing summer vacations to April 20, the Chhattisgarh govt has responded to intensifying heatwave conditions, as rising temperatures and forecasts of further heat spikes prompt early closure of schools to safeguard children's health across the state.
State govton Thursdayhas rescheduled summer vacations for schools in view of the rising heatwave conditions across the state,prioritisingthe health and safety of children.
The order, issued by the school educationdepartment,notesthat the summer vacation will now beobservedfrom 20 April to 15 June 2026. The break was previously scheduled to begin on May 1. The directive applies to all govt, aided, and private schools in the state.
Meanwhile, according to the local meteorological department, thestate is likely to experience dry weather with centralregionslikely to see a rise of two to three degrees over the next two days.
